Curricular Activities

Language practice classes


Every workday (Monday to Friday), there are 5 language practice classes, as follows:

  • classes from 9:00 to 11:00,
  • break from 11:00 to 11:30,
  • classes from 11:30 to 13:15.




During the first, second and thirds weeks of the School (19 July - 4 August), two lecture classes a day are organized in the following areas:

  • Serbian Language (Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics),
  • Serbian Literature (Folk and Oral, Medieval and Contemporary),
  • National History (Middle Ages and recent history),
  • Economics,
  • Political Sociology.

The lectures are in Serbian.

The lectures are organized in the areas and on the topics chosen by the participants at the beginning of the School. The participants will be asked to state their preferences on the placement exam sheet.

The lectures are held from 17:00 to 18:30.

Extracurricular Activities


A visit to one of the towns in the Province of Vojvodina: Subotica, Sombor (in the Bačka region), Kikinda, Vršac (in the Banat region), Sremska Mitrovica, Ruma (in the Srem region)


Local excursions

A tour of the monasteries of Fruška Gora and a picnic


The sights of Novi Sad

A tour around the famous cultural and socio-political institutions Matica srpska [Serbian Cultural Centre], galleries and museums, the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina etc.

A tour of the Petrovaradin Fortress


Instruction in Serbian folk dances and songs:

Organized by AKUD [Academic Arts and Culture Society] „Sonja Marinković” , this instruction gives an insight into an important feature of traditional Serbian culture and at the same time provides a lot of fun

If the participants show interest, a one-day trip to Belgrade, will be organized (it is not included in the course fee) and will include visits to Saint Sava’s Cathedral, Kalemegdan Park, the Vuk Stefanović Karadžić Museum, the Dositej Obradović Musem, the National Museum


Screening of recently produced Serbian films


Literary events:

  • A lecture on eminent Serbian writers,
  • A meeting with present-day Serbian writers
