The
University of Novi Sad (Faculty
of Philosophy) International Summer
School was founded in 1996 with
a mission to stimulate, promote
and spread knowledge of the Serbian
Language, Literature, culture
and history beyond the frontiers
of the Republic of Serbia and
Montenegro.

The
University of Novi Sad offers
high-level instruction in various
disciplines of interest to foreign
students. The School offers an
interdisciplinary programme in
phonology and grammar (morphology,
syntax, semantics, pragmatics)
of the Serbian Language, development
of the four basic language skills
(speaking, writing, reading, verbal
comprehension), as well as a basic
acquaintance with Serbian Literature
for students of Slavic studies
or Regional studies, as well as
for researchers and lecturers
(professors, assistant professors
and teaching assistants) at foreign
universities and scientific institutions,
that is students and scholars
from all over the world, journalists,
diplomats, businessmen and all
others who need the Serbian Language
in their work.
